Who We Are
Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife is the provincial conservation agency for KwaZulu-Natal. Our mandate is derived from the KwaZulu-Natal Nature Conservation Management Act (Act No.9 of 1997).
We are custodians of:
- uKhahlamba Drakensberg Park - UNESCO World Heritage Site
- iSimangaliso Wetland Park - UNESCO World Heritage Site
- Hluhluwe-iMfolozi Park - Africa's oldest game reserve, genetic home of the white rhino
- 60+ protected areas across KwaZulu-Natal
Our Operations
Ezemvelo manages one of the largest eco-tourism operations in South Africa:
- 2,500 beds per night across diverse accommodation types
- 10,000+ camping spaces per night
- 65 protected areas with overnight facilities
