EZEMVELO KZN WILDLIFE CLARIFIES POSITION ON PLANNED PRIVATE WILDLIFE MANAGEMENT INTERVENTION
Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife (Ezemvelo) has been made aware of the planned wildlife management intervention, which is organised by the Hibiscus Retirement Village and other stakeholders. It is not an Ezemvelo initiative.
Ezemvelo wishes to clarify its position regarding the planned intervention and provide clarity to the public on the organisation's role in wildlife management matters.

Regulatory Framework
As the provincial conservation agency, Ezemvelo's mandate is derived from the KwaZulu-Natal Nature Conservation Management Act (Act No. 9 of 1997). The organisation is responsible for:
- Management of protected areas within the province
- Regulation of wildlife-related activities
- Enforcement of conservation legislation
- Provision of permits for wildlife management activities
